High School Girls Softball Head Coach in at Immanuel Christian School

Immanuel Christian School is seeking a High School Girls Softball Head Coach for the 2026–2027 season. As we launch our girls softball program, we are looking for a qualified coach with strong softball knowledge who is excited about the opportunity to establish, build, and develop a competitive program while investing in the lives of student-athletes.

The head coach will serve as the leader of the Girls Softball program and will play an important role in establishing the foundation, culture, and expectations for the program from its beginning. The ideal candidate will emphasize teamwork, discipline, growth, and excellence while creating an environment where student-athletes can develop their skills, compete at a high level, and grow in character and faith.

In addition to leading the high school team during the season, the head coach will demonstrate a commitment to the long-term growth and development of Girls Softball at Immanuel Christian School. This includes helping generate excitement and participation within the school community, developing athletes of varying experience levels, working collaboratively with assistant coaches and the Athletic Department, and establishing a strong foundation that will allow the program to grow and succeed for years to come.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of the high school Girls Softball program
• Establish and implement a clear program philosophy, culture, and expectations as the program begins its first season
• Plan and lead effective practices focused on fundamental skill development, team development, and preparation for competition
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and growth
• Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and assistant coaches to coordinate practices, games, player development, equipment, and other program needs
• Provide leadership and direction to assistant coaches and help establish consistency throughout the program
• Support and encourage student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and spiritual development
• Develop players of varying experience and ability levels while creating an environment where athletes are challenged and encouraged to grow
• Promote the Girls Softball program within the school community and help generate excitement and participation among current and prospective student-athletes
• Help establish a strong foundation for the long-term growth, development, and competitiveness of Girls Softball at Immanuel Christian School

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior softball playing or coaching experience required; high school level coaching experience preferred
• Strong understanding of softball fundamentals, skill development, practice planning, game strategy, and player development
• Ability to establish and build a new program, including developing its culture, expectations, and identity
• Ability to effectively lead and collaborate with assistant coaches
• Ability to teach and develop student-athletes across a range of experience and ability levels
• Ability to lead, mentor, and build meaningful relationships with high school student-athletes
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Immanuel Christian School
• Willingness to invest in the long-term growth and development of the Girls Softball program
