Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro (BGCP) is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organized professional to serve as our Senior Director of Development & Board Operations. Annual salary: $85,000, with a comprehensive benefits package
Reports to: Chief Development Officer, with a dotted-line relationship to the CEO
Classification: Exempt
Work arrangement: Hybrid, with regular in-person participation in meetings, events, and team collaboration throughout the Portland Metro region
The Opportunity
The Senior Director of Development & Board Operations is a key partner to the Chief Development Officer and CEO, providing the systems, information, coordination, and follow-through that support fundraising performance and effective board engagement.
You will coordinate daily development operations, oversee Salesforce and donor data, track fundraising progress, and help our Development Team, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors stay informed, connected, and actively engaged. You will also support executive priorities, stakeholder relationships, and special projects across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with sound judgment and a relationship-centered approach. You can translate data into useful insights, anticipate what leaders and colleagues need, and manage both strategic projects and the everyday details that keep an organization moving.
What You’ll Lead
Development Systems & Operations
- Oversee Salesforce administration, donor data integrity, reporting dashboards, workflow automation, and donor lifecycle tracking.Strengthen consistent processes for donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, gift reporting, and timely acknowledgments.Prepare revenue pacing reports, pipeline updates, forecasts, and performance scorecards that help the CDO, CEO, and Board assess progress and take action.Partner with Finance on revenue reconciliation, invoicing, collections, and alignment between fundraising and financial records.Coordinate departmental calendars, campaign timelines, and stewardship activities to keep priorities and deliverables on track.
Board Coordination & Engagement
- Coordinate meetings across BGCP’s Executive, Associate, and Pacesetters Boards, including scheduling, logistics, materials, and follow-up.Maintain accessible Board resources, including agendas, pre-reads, committee information, action summaries, and scorecards.Support Board recruitment and onboarding through prospect tracking, meeting coordination, orientations, Club tours, and engagement planning.Track attendance, committee participation, Individual Engagement Plans (IEP), and stewardship activities.Coordinate recognition and relationship-building opportunities that strengthen Board Members’ connection to BGCP and its mission.
Executive Support, Special Projects & External Engagement
- Support the CDO and CEO with scheduling, preparation, coordination, and follow-through for key stakeholder meetings and organizational priorities.Organize meaningful Club tours and engagement opportunities for donors, partners, elected officials, and community leaders.Coordinate special projects and cross-departmental workflows with clear timelines, communication, and accountability.Provide operational and logistical support for signature events, including Youth of the Year, Be Great Ball, and Lemonade Day.Maintain the organizational master calendar and support essential administrative systems, including government grant registration and shared communication channels.
What You’ll Bring
Required qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in nonprofit development and fundraising.Advanced proficiency with CRM and database systems, preferably Salesforce, including reporting, data governance, forecasting, and workflow automation.Experience managing donor data, fundraising pipelines, and dashboards that inform decisions.Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills.Experience coordinating Board operations and supporting Board engagement.Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Executives, Board Members, donors, and colleagues.A proactive approach, exceptional attention to detail, and commitment to accurate, timely work.A strong connection to BGCP’s mission and the young people and families we serve.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in youth development or familiarity with Boys & Girls Clubs.Experience supporting fundraising campaigns and grant coordination.Knowledge of nonprofit marketing and communications.Experience developing Board engagement plans, scorecards, or performance dashboards.

Compensation & Work Expectations
This position offers an annual salary of $85,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.
The role follows a hybrid schedule with regular in-person attendance for Board meetings, events, and cross-team collaboration. Occasional evening and weekend commitments and local travel throughout the Portland Metro region are required.
