Social Media Intern in Lookout Mountain, Georgia at Rock City Enterprises

The Social Media Intern supports the development and execution of social media and digital marketing initiatives across Rock City Enterprises brands. This role assists with content creation, social media engagement, campaign support, and promotional activities while gaining hands-on experience in digital storytelling, brand marketing, and guest engagement.

Working under the direction of the Social Media Manager, the Social Media Intern helps capture and share the unique experiences that bring Rock City Enterprises brands to life while supporting marketing initiatives that drive awareness, engagement, and guest connection.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Culture

· Delivers excellent guest service to internal and external customers in alignment with the organization's mission, culture, and values.

· Models appropriate guest and partner interactions at all times.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

· Assists with coordinating on-site photography, videography, media visits, and influencer content creation.

· Helps monitor social media channels, Google Business Profiles, and travel review platforms while supporting audience engagement efforts.

· Researches and communicates with influencers, content creators, ambassadors, and community partners

Social Media Content & Campaigns

· Captures photo and video content throughout Rock City Enterprises properties, events, and guest experiences for use across social media, digital marketing, and promotional campaigns.

· Creates engaging written, video, and visual content for Rock City, Chanticleer Inn, Starbucks, and other affiliated brands.

· Assists in the planning, creation, and execution of social media marketing campaigns.

· Assists with content editing, graphic creation, and asset organization using Canva and other marketing tools.

· Provides live social media coverage during select events and seasonal attractions.

Analytics & Marketing Support

· Assists with collecting, organizing, and reporting social media and marketing performance metrics.

· Supports marketing initiatives beyond social media, including special events, promotions, partnerships, and guest experience campaigns.

· Assists the Marketing team with projects and initiatives that support the overall goals of Rock City Enterprises.

General Responsibilities

· Ensure all organizational processes and procedures are followed consistently.

· Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

· Experience creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok preferred..

Knowledge & Skills

· Passion for social media, content creation, digital storytelling, and emerging social trends.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Outgoing personality with a commitment to providing exceptional guest service.

· Ability to interact professionally with guests, team members, influencers, and content creators.

· Proficiency with Canva and familiarity with social media management tools such as Meta Business Suite, Later, CapCut, or similar platforms.

· Ability to capture high-quality photo and video content using smartphones, cameras, and related equipment.

· Familiarity with video editing, graphic design, and short-form content creation preferred.

· Strong creative eye for photography, videography, and visual storytelling.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Licenses & Requirements

· Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

· Regular use of hands and fingers.

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

· Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

· Ability to walk trails and move between locations as needed.
