Safety Professional in at Foresight On-Site

The Safety Professional is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe work environment by developing, implementing, and maintaining workplace safety programs and procedures. This position works closely with employees, supervisors, and management to identify hazards, ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, conduct safety training, and support continuous improvement of the company’s safety culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements.
• Conduct safety orientations and ongoing employee safety training.
• Maintain safety training records, inspection reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions and assist with identifying corrective actions.
• Partner with supervisors and employees to address safety concerns and implement appropriate corrective measures.
• Perform job hazard analyses and assist with developing appropriate safety controls.
• Support personal protective equipment (PPE) programs and ensure employees understand proper use and requirements.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and workplace emergency response programs.
• Participate in safety meetings and communicate safety updates and expectations to employees.
• Track safety metrics and assist management with identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with workers' compensation claims and provide information/documentation as needed.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and support proper chemical handling, labeling, and storage practices.
• Support safety audits and inspections and assist with responding to findings.
• Work with department leaders to promote accountability for safe work practices.
• Stay current on changes to OSHA regulations, industry standards, and safety best practices.
• Perform other safety-related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in workplace safety, EHS, manufacturing, construction, or a related environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, investigations, and employee training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend practical corrective actions.
• Ability to maintain confidential and accurate records.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
• OSHA-related training or certifications.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• ASP, CSP, or other safety certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while conducting workplace inspections.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear required PPE.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials as needed to perform safety-related activities.
• Ability to work around machinery, chemicals, production equipment, and other workplace hazards while following established safety procedures.
• Work Environment

This position primarily works in a manufacturing/production environment and may spend time in offices, production areas, warehouse spaces, and other company facilities. The Safety Professional must be comfortable working around manufacturing equipment, chemicals, PPE requirements, and other industrial workplace conditions.
