Pallet Jack Operator - Freezer 1st shift in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania at Bell and Evans

The Production Associate – Product Handler is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the processing and handling of poultry products. Responsibilities may include weighing, labeling, moving, inspecting, and preparing products while following all safety, quality, and production standards.

Employees may be assigned to different departments or responsibilities based on production and staffing needs. Other duties may be assigned by supervision as needed.

• Ensure pallet jacks are clean from the previous shift and complete required pre-operation inspections.
• Weigh products using floor scales and print accurate labels.
• Use stretch wrap to securely package products on pallets.
• Move finished products to designated storage or shipping areas.
• Stock production lines with required PPE and hand-washing supplies.
• Complete required temperature checks throughout the manufacturing area.
• Verify product seals are correct and match production screens.
• Operate and maintain basic production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and requirements.
• Inspect and calibrate equipment before use and following equipment breakdowns.
• Coordinate with department leads to follow production schedules and prepare the correct work-in-process (WIP).
• Follow product recipes and production specifications to ensure the correct product mix.
• Calculate ingredient weights accurately to achieve the required product mix.
• Ensure ingredients are within the appropriate co-date and meet all Quality Assurance (QA) requirements for temperature and consistency.
• Work with QA to obtain the appropriate water/phage mixture.
• Safely use scissors or knives to open necessary ingredients.
• Operate scales and ensure all finished buggies/bins are properly labeled and covered.
• Move and store finished buggies/bins in designated areas or deliver them to the appropriate production line.
• Monitor products for downgrades, contamination, or foreign material and report issues promptly.
• Follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Be willing and able to work in other departments and positions as production and staffing needs require.

• Willing and able to work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments.
• Ability to work safely around industrial equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements involving the arms, wrists, and hands.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Previous poultry production experience or experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Previous experience operating production equipment is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
