Pitt EDGE is the University of Pittsburgh’s central hub for digital education, housed within the Office of the Provost. This inaugural Center advances the University’s strategic vision for online, hybrid, and continuing education by partnering with Pitt’s 16 schools to expand access and improve quality for diverse learners. Pitt EDGE supports the full lifecycle of digital learning through services such as marketing support and analysis, technology integration, instructional design, academic planning, recruitment, and quality assurance.
If you are detail-oriented and enjoy building the systems that connect prospective students to the information they need, we welcome you to become an Email Marketing Specialist on our team. In this role, you will hold a crucial position in building and maintaining email communications, managing send execution and data accuracy, and contributing to the marketing infrastructure that supports enrollment across the University of Pittsburgh Center for Excellence in Digital Education/Pitt Online.
Manages and facilitates targeted email campaign processes utilizing email marketing automation and multiple software programs. Manages email campaign calendar, email messaging, and provides result analysis of campaigns. Supports marketing campaigns by designing and hosting landing pages. Ensures consistent messaging and maintains University brand and style.
Essential Functions
• Build and deploy email journeys for pillar programs and EDGE Recruitment team, including trigger setup, entry criteria, and send configuration
• Support build and deployment of email journeys for school partners as assigned
• Populate and maintain school-specific dynamic content blocks; update as program information changes
• Manage send schedules, suppression lists, and test deploys for all assigned sends
• Complete QA checklist before every send; document and resolve or escalate as needed
• Utilize and maintain data tracking protocols including but not limited to UTM parameters, email tagging, and campaigns
• Support Email Marketing Manager in answering execution questions from school-based staff (template use, suppression, scheduling) as needed
• Monitor email performance data and compile reports upon journey close
• Ensure all content meets accessibility standards
Physical Effort
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time while working at a computer. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (e.g., files, equipment)
