Paint (Powder Coat) Line Coordinator in Cedar Springs, Michigan at J-Star Motion Corporation

Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for working on the powder coat line, racking and un-racking parts throughout the powder coat process. There will be additional material handling responsibilities assigned to this position as designated by the supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities:
Prepares the proper paint hooks for product.
Hang all appropriate identification tags for line loader.
Hang all appropriate identification tags for powder coat painting.
Follow and perform the five-step (5s) methodology to create an organized and productive workspace.
Responsible for verifying the correct product, quantity, and color are going on and off the line.
Scheduling the line to complete all work orders.
Overseeing all powder coat line team members.
Serves as coach, trainer and mentor to powder coat personnel.
Monitor scrap for (insert the outcome here. I wasn’t sure what to include)
Perform quality audits that align with the J-Star quality and expectations.
Follow and perform the five-step (5s) methodology to create an organized and productive workspace.
Responsible for ensuring the work area remains clean and contains safe working conditions.

Non-Essential Responsibilities:
Performing other duties as assigned.
Operates hand and power tools.
Comply with all safety regulations.

Education & Experience:
High School diploma or GED.
2+ years of previous powder coating experience.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to troubleshoot problems in the powder coating system.
Manual dexterity and strength required for position
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Strong attention to detail; quality focused and a quick learner
