Job Title: Technical System Support Specialist
Location: Baltimore, MD (onsite)
About the Role:
The Technical System Support Specialist provides advanced technical support across enterprise IT environments, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of systems including servers, desktops, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications.
Your Impact:
As a Technical Systems Support Specialist, you will:
  • Provide advanced technical support for IT systems, hardware, and software across diverse client environments.
  • Support, install, and manage desktop and server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server (2016 or newer).
  • Collaborate closely with client staff and contractors while participating in internal meetings and technical planning.
  • Review vulnerability assessments and partner with IT teams to plan and implement remediation strategies.
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMWare) and assist with DMZ server management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex, escalated service desk issues requiring advanced expertise.
  • Support directory services and infrastructure, including Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Intune, and SMS.
  • Maintain server security through group policy management and system hardening practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support IT operations and business needs.
These responsibilities are not meant to be all-inclusive; additional tasks may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in systems engineering.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in supporting Microsoft Windows Server environment (2016 or newer).
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Intune, and systems management tools (SMS).
  • Experience administering virtualization technologies such as Omnissa (VMware) or similar platforms.

Standout Qualifications:
  • Experience supervising system engineers or leading technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
  • Proven experience providing technical support in enterprise IT environments.
  • Solid knowledge of server and desktop OS installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and contractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic technical environment.
Pay Range:
$40.00/hr. - $55.00/hr.
