Job Description
SUMMARY: The Information Technology Associate participates in the implementation of entry level tools and workflows, assists the project management team, coordinators, or project manager in small projects. The IT Associate also assists with small to medium complex software implementations and deployments. In addition, this position will assist the IT Specialist or other members of the IT department with various tasks and processes such as monitoring and maintenance of systems at Luxor Scientific.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Operates various software and hardware to perform daily tasks, communicates with staff and/or clients; and in exceptional cases; utilizes specific resources for troubleshooting and repair (e.g., Vendor specific software, specific tools for hardware repair/troubleshooting, or specific operating systems.)
- Monitors, responds to, and resolves IT issues that arise by utilizing Luxor Scientific’s IT ticketing system.
- Utilizes remote support/troubleshooting applications and uses said applications to establish remote connections to both local and offsite facilities for issue resolution. (e.g., TeamViewer, Microsoft Quick Assist.)
- Installs, repairs, or replaces hardware/software if requested or as needed.
- Performs role as liaison surrounding LIS related issues and staff. Resolves LIS issues due to technical, physical, or application-based concerns.
- Monitors various services or applications for operational integrity and continuity.
- Utilizes the networking fundamentals to ensure maintaining and monitoring network uptime and status. (Port configurations, TCP/IP fundamentals, workstation-based firewalls, cable management, creation, and deployment, etc.)
- Communicates effectively to/with potential vendors, contractors, and other employees.
- Maintains a professional attitude, even in uncertain or trying situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in a technical field or a bachelor's degree in a related scientific field.
- Ability to work on site in Greenville, SC
- Two years of healthcare experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
- Experience with laboratory information services preferred
- If the education or laboratory information services requirements cannot be met, an equivalent combination of relevant information technology experience (approximately two years) may be considered as a substitute.

HOURS/TRAVEL:
- May travel between locations occasionally as requested.
- Typical work hours: Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM (May vary).
- May include other daily hours, weekends and/or holidays.
- May need to work occasional overtime as required.
