Asset Accounting Senior Expert

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Asset Accounting Senior Expert based in the United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play a key role in managing complex fixed asset accounting operations within a global finance environment. You will oversee the full asset lifecycle, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure compliance with international accounting standards while supporting business transformation initiatives. The role combines operational excellence with continuous process improvement, offering the chance to contribute to strategic projects, mergers and acquisitions, and financial reporting activities. Accountabilities
  • Execute fixed asset accounting operations accurately and within established reporting deadlines.
  • Manage accounting activities across the complete asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, capitalization, transfers, retirements, disposals, leasebacks, and assets held for sale.
  • Partner with Controlling, Procurement, Legal, Product Supply, Financial Accounting, and other business functions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance.
  • Maintain effective internal controls supporting the accuracy and integrity of financial statements.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other global or local business initiatives from an accounting perspective.
  • Participate in process optimization projects and continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and accounting quality.
  • Monitor regulatory and accounting standard changes, adapting accounting processes and posting logic as required.
  • Deliver knowledge-sharing sessions, support team development, and identify training opportunities to strengthen accounting capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Controlling, Audit, or a related financial discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and other applicable accounting standards governing fixed asset accounting.
  • Extensive understanding of the complete fixed asset lifecycle, including capitalization, investment accounting, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and asset sales.
  • Experience managing intercompany accounting transactions and related financial processes.
  • Ability to interpret changing accounting regulations and implement appropriate accounting treatments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and English proficiency at a minimum B2 level.
  • Experience with SAP Asset Accounting (AA module) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with finance lease accounting, Capex4IT processes, and financial consolidation principles is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across international, cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities.
