The Senior Salesforce Application Engineer will build, enhance, and support sophisticated Salesforce solutions across multiple layers of the software stack.
The role combines hands-on engineering with troubleshooting, technical design, testing, deployment, and stakeholder collaboration.
You will work across Salesforce, web technologies, APIs, databases, and data workflows in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
The position plays an important role in delivering reliable applications while balancing technical priorities with business needs.
Close collaboration with engineers, Technical Program Managers, and business stakeholders will be central to your success.

- Design, develop, review, test, and maintain Salesforce applications and related web-based software solutions, with a focus on high-quality and maintainable code.
- Write and review technical documentation and participate actively in code reviews to uphold engineering standards and support knowledge sharing.
- Develop automated unit tests and contribute to build, deployment, and production support activities.
- Apply agile and Scrum-oriented software development practices while partnering with Technical Program Managers to manage delivery timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues, bugs, and performance challenges through deep technical analysis and structured problem solving.
- Work across front-end, back-end, API, database, and data layers as needed to understand and resolve issues across the broader software stack.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements, balance technical and business priorities, and deliver solutions aligned with shared objectives.
- Build trusted relationships with technical and business partners while communicating progress, risks, trade-offs, and technical decisions effectively.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of Salesforce integrations with business applications and API-driven services.
- Support large-scale software initiatives from planning and development through testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, an engineering discipline, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 7 years of Salesforce engineering experience, including strong expertise with Apex, Lightning Web Components, triggers, and SOQL.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud Engagement (formerly ExactTarget).
- Demonstrated experience integrating Salesforce/SFDC with business applications and external systems.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting web-based software, preferably with Apex and/or Java.
- Deep technical knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, particularly Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS), Journey Builder, and Automation Studio, is highly valued.
- Expertise in data management and performance tuning, including large data volumes, SQL/SOQL, database structuring, and optimization.
- Experience understanding complex codebases and applying API design techniques, particularly for omnichannel communication microservices, is preferred.
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is an advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to own large-scale projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively across engineering, program management, and business teams.
- Practical experience with agile software practices, technical documentation, code reviews, unit testing, build processes, and deployment support.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the initiative to identify issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.

- Base salary range of $139,200–$198,700, plus bonus and benefits.
- Actual compensation may vary based on work location, with the applicable salary range discussed during the hiring process.
