Job Description:

Collates or sheets decorative papers into specific lengths at levels to meet the performance goals under the direction of the Team Lead/supervisor. Performs other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain and read schedules for sheeters and collators, order appropriate size board and follow schedule order.
  • Cut to specified lengths as designated by Product Quality Department.
  • Inspects material for pattern defects, crumbs, dirt, wrinkles, water spots, etc.
  • Use FIFO inventory practices for rewound overlay and patterns when collating.
  • Keep aluminum cores cleaned and in rack – treater ready.
  • Continually monitor raw materials for visual quality and line up, make any necessary adjustments.
  • Change out pallets and make sure corresponding ORACLE tags are placed in each completed pallet.
  • Set up rolls for oncoming crew.
  • Make sure all computer work and paper work is completed.
  • Creates and competes WIP jobs in Oracle.
  • Insure collated material is press ready.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work place.
  • Keep machine clean and report any problems to management and maintenance.
  • Create rainbow rolls as needed for use on the collators.
  • Assist and fill in for other jobs as needed.
  • Follow all department and company safety guidelines.
  • Participates in the Lean process.
  • Operates a fork/clamp lift.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Operation of equipment and machinery in a safe manner.
  • Knowledge of the safety standards applicable to the Production areas and other pertinent rules / regulations governing work standards.
  • Must be trained or willing to learn to operate fork/clamp lift and Drexel lift.
  • Knowledge of computers sufficient to perform Oracle WIP transactions.
  • Knowledge of mathematics sufficient to calculate square footage.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to communicate well in a production environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

Experience:

Preferred to have at least six (6) months Wilsonart experience and a minimum of 1 year experience working with and around industrial equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS

Position consists of working rotating shift work to include weekends.

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
