Summary:
Vighter is recruiting a PACU Register Nurse, to provide patient care and administrative support at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. In accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines, while supporting the healthcare needs of Active-Duty Service Members, their families and veterans.

Principle Accountabilities:
- Assess and care for post-anesthesia and post-procedural patients.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provideappropriate post-operativerecovery care.
- Monitor patient condition and recognize changes requiring intervention.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, oxygen, and other prescribed treatments.
- Perform nursing procedures including dressing changes, wound irrigation, specimen collection, and vital signs.
- Operate andmonitorspecialized PACU and cardiac equipment.
- Participate in moderate sedation training and provide sedation whenrequired.
- Complete required unit orientation and competency verification.
- Pass required pharmacology computation and anaphylactic shock/blood transfusion reaction competency tests.
- Participate in staff training, committees, customer service, and medical readiness activities.
- Maintain infection-control, patient-safety, and workplace-safety standards.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of post-operative, critical, and surgical nursing care.
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of medications, dosage calculations, side effects, and safe administration.
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and test results.
- Skilled with IV pumps, cardiac monitors, EKGs, oxygen equipment, nebulizers, and unit-specific equipment.
- Proficient with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) competency assessment.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a medical/surgical or critical care inpatient setting.
- Experience caring for newborn through geriatric populations.
- Minimum 1 year of post-anesthesia/sedation experience.
Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
- The expected duty hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 0730-1630, with 1 hour break as stated within the contract. .

Travel:
- As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commuting is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand or sit for more than 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to use an elevator or walk up & down stairs.
- Must be able tolift upto 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet.
- Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
- Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
- Must be able to perform duties in an indoor office or outdoor environment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
- Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
