Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Program Engineer to join our team.
In particular, a programmer with experience with 4 and 5 axis machining centers, such as horizontal machining centers or vertical machining centers with 4 and 5 axis tables.
Experience with off-line CAM programs, such as Gibbs or Mastercam or the equivalent is required.
We do not have lathes, and are looking for a milling expert only.
Responsibilities
- Write programs for 4 and 5 axis CNC machines, especially Fanuc-controlled equipment.
- Design of work holding fixtures using SolidWorks software. We can train on software but will be a long-term requirement.
- Understanding GD&T is helpful.
- Able to build tool sets for production jobs and prove out the programs to hand them off to quality and production departments.
- Troubleshoot and improve programs on a regular basis.
- Development of processes such as part setup, deburring, gaging to assist the quality department in process documentation.
- 3 years of CNC programming is required.
- Have strong drawing/print reading abilities.
- Have strong understanding of dimensioning systems and tolerances
- Experience with CAM programming is necessary, along with extensive knowledge of Cutters and Tool Holders.
- Familiarity with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoDesk Inventor for creating fixture designs.
- Experience with 4 and/or 5 axis machines.
- CMM exposure and working with a CMM department is a Plus.
