Position SummaryTampa Family Health Centers is seeking a Family Practice Residency Coordinator with a strong understanding of Graduate Medical Education, residency program operations, and physician training to support our Family Medicine Residency continuity clinic.
This position works closely with residents, faculty, clinical teams, Graduate Medical Education leadership, and organizational leadership to coordinate scheduling, maintain program and accreditation requirements, support resident education, and help ensure an efficient and well-organized training environment.
Essential Responsibilities- Manage continuity clinic schedules for Family Medicine residents across all training levels
- Coordinate clinic sessions with rotation schedules, call schedules, and ACGME requirements
- Identify and resolve conflicts between resident clinic responsibilities and residency rotations
- Support efficient patient scheduling, clinic workflow, and continuity of care
- Track resident clinic sessions, patient panels, visit volumes, and continuity metrics
- Monitor appointment utilization, patient access, no-show rates, and clinic workflow concerns
- Maintain documentation necessary to support ACGME and residency program requirements
- Support preparation of continuity clinic information for program evaluations and Clinical Competency Committee activities
- Assist with quality improvement and patient experience initiatives related to the residency clinic
- Serve as a liaison between residents, faculty, clinical operations, GME leadership, and other departments
- Identify opportunities to improve residency clinic operations and administrative processes
- Maintain confidentiality of resident performance information and patient records
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in healthcare administration, program coordination, medical education, Graduate Medical Education, or a related field
- Deep understanding of Graduate Medical Education and the structure of residency training
- Strong working knowledge of residency program operations, accreditation requirements, and ACGME standards
- Understanding of how resident rotations, continuity clinic requirements, duty hours, evaluations, and educational requirements work together
- Experience supporting an ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship program strongly preferred
- Experience with New Innovations or a similar residency management system preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines and competing priorities
- Ability to build effective working relationships with residents, physicians, faculty, leadership, clinical teams, and external partners
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and residency management systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and healthcare regulations

Please note: The employee’s initial training schedule may differ from the regular schedule of the position. All new hires, including part-time employees, must be available for up to 40 hours of in-person, on-site training during their first week. Additional mandatory training may continue for approximately two to three weeks depending on the position and training requirements. Training may take place at a TFHC location other than the employee’s assigned work location.
