Responsibilities
Overview:
The role of the Assistant Service Manager is integral to the overall objective of providing quality services and ensuring the reliability of HVAC Service Department operations. The Assistant Service Manager is required to perform oversight of the Service operations, preventative maintenance, and repair functions of mechanical systems in offices, hotels, government buildings, and other facilities. This position will assist in directing labor, supervision, tools, supplies, materials, equipment, and other items as required to successfully meet the obligations of our contracts. We work on a variety of residential and commercial HVAC equipment to include: CRAC units, RTUs, FCUs, split systems, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, gas and oil-fired AHUs, VAV systems, chilled/hot water systems, condenser water systems, and hi/low pressure steam systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in diagnosing HVAC equipment and system problems
- Estimate repairs and installations of HVAC equipment listed above
- Draft and provide proposals to customers
- Order materials and equipment as required for completing repairs and installations of HVAC equipment
- Assist with scheduling of field technicians to complete installations and repairs
- Interface with building personnel and other customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction. Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and subcontractors, providing direction and support when needed
- Review completed projects to identify opportunities for future improvement
- Review technician reports to ensure that preventative maintenance obligations are being fully performed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Hours: 7am to 4pm, Monday-Friday
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience with Commercial HVAC systems
- Master or Journeyman license preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to use initiative and judgment arranging job details to achieve objectives
- Computer literacy including strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet research, and other software applications
- Heavy emphasis on organizational skills and written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to take calls and address issues after hours and weekends (as needed)
- Strong initiative to solve problems and find solutions
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented
- Must be a team player and self-starter
- Ability to complete tasks in timely fashion
Physical and Mental Job Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift to sixty (60) pounds
- Capable of climbing ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet
- Typical office conditions
- High-level of professional conduct both internally and externally with co-workers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
