Summary
Performs a broad range of electronic assembly operations on components, subassemblies, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with engineering specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. Operates and maintains production equipment, including wave soldering and conformal coating systems, while ensuring high levels of quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability. Works under general supervision and demonstrates the ability to complete moderately complex assemblies with minimal guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Assemble electronic components and subassemblies using visual aids, wiring diagrams, bills of material (BOMs), and written/verbal instructions
- Perform through-hole and surface mount soldering to applicable standards
- Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions with minimal supervision
- Perform masking and demasking processes for conformal coating applications
- Apply conformal coatings, adhesives, and other materials per specifications
- Perform component insertion, hand soldering, inspection, and hardware installation
- Conduct in-process visual inspections to ensure quality and compliance
- Operate wave soldering equipment, including setup, loading/unloading assemblies, and monitoring process parameters
- Operate conformal coating equipment (e.g., Autocoat systems), ensuring proper coverage and process control
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, basic troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance tasks
- Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or process deviations
- Ensure proper handling and usage of materials, including solder, flux, and coating compounds
- Identify and report defects, discrepancies, or process issues
- Accurately enter production data into computer systems
- Support basic machine operations and adapt to multiple workstations as needed
- Transition efficiently between assignments based on production priorities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe work environment

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2–4 years of electronic assembly experience
- Experience with wave soldering and/or conformal coating equipment preferred
- Proficiency in through-hole and surface mount soldering
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Basic computer skills (data entry, production systems)
- Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) preferred
- Experience performing basic equipment maintenance or troubleshooting is a plus
