System Engineer (m/f/d) in Cluj-Napoca, Cluj at Skaylink

Join Skaylink, part of Vodafone, and help leading DACH customers maintain and improve their IT infrastructure through hands-on engineering and migration projects.

This role is remote within Romania. If you are based in Cluj-Napoca, you also have the option to work from our office in a hybrid setup.

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2019 and later), ensuring stability, performance, and security.
• Manage VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including server migrations.
• Design, operate, and optimize Remote Desktop Services (RDS) across on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Deliver infrastructure projects, from technical implementation and migrations to optimization.
• Provide Level 2 support, troubleshoot complex incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to coordinate technical activities and ensure effective service delivery.
• Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately 1–2 weeks per quarter).

Mandatory requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or technical support.
• Solid hands-on experience with Windows Server (2019 and later).
• Practical experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Experience with RDS, Level 2 support, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Involvement in infrastructure projects, particularly server migrations.
• Good knowledge of networking, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Good English skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a customer-focused environment.

Nice to have:

• B2 German language skills (a strong advantage, as most customers are German-speaking).
• Experience with Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments.
• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop and SQL.
• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-800 and AZ-801.
