Medical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate clinician, who understands and respects the values of our tribal communities. Together, staff will provide care that meets the needs of the community and offers a meaningful and culturally responsive experience for both patients and their families.

Requirements:

Specialty: Medical Assistant

Licensure:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate & be a graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by (One of the following):
    • Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
    • Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists
    • Formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces, OR other formal program approved by the MTF

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Experience: Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant within the last three (3) years all ages.

Schedule: Sunday through Saturday between 0645 and 1900- depending on clinic location

Duties:

  • Perform basic "waived testing" to include screening tests
  • Prepare specimens for transport
  • Perform laboratory testing according to established laboratory procedures.
  • Comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Per the Family Advocacy Program provide appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.
  • Attend and/or comply with all annual training required to include but not limited to online annual training: disaster training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE)
  • Provide accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.
  • Operate automated systems such as MHS Genesis and Clinical Information System (CIS),
