MORE Assistant Part-Time in Lexington, Kentucky at Voices of Hope Lexington Inc

Reports to: Program Coordinator

OVERVIEW

This Mobile Outreach Recovery Engagement (MORE) assistant position will involve mobile outreach to vulnerable members of our community, including people who are actively using drugs or drinking alcohol, experiencing homelessness or hunger, engaging in sex work, or living in historically underserved neighborhoods. This is a part-time position with approximately 25 hours a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Customer Service

• Greeting and assisting participants
• Handling inquiries and providing information
• Coordinating with the Recovery Coach and volunteers
• Provide information and resources to individuals seeking recovery support.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the privacy of members and their information.

Support Tasks

• Assist with inventory management
• Ensure mobile unit is tidy and presentable
• Monitor and maintain supply stock on mobile unit

Other Duties

• Stay current local events with the recovery community center.
• Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with the addiction recovery process.
• Familiarity with local support services, resources, and recovery community.
• Capability of engaging people where they are.
• Demonstrated skill in actively listening, asking good questions, awareness of self and treating people as resources.
• Understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries.
• Cross-cultural skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both individually and in a group
• Strong customer service ethic essential.
• Bilingual a plus
• Must be 18 or older
• Possess a valid Kentucky driver's license with no health problems that limit or restrict driver's licensing.
• Minimum of five years driving experience with no more than two at-fault accidents or six or more deficiency points in the past three years.
• Submit a Motor Vehicle Release Form.
• This position will require you to work outside and from a mobile van.
• Be able to complete I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification
• Be able to complete a background check (prior convictions may not necessarily disqualify an applicant)
