Maintenance & Facilities Technician

Job Description

Summary (Position Description): The Maintenance & Facilities Technician supports the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of both facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This role performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, compressed air systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, boilers, and general building infrastructure. The position also supports production equipment such as automated welders, hydraulic presses, assembly equipment, conveyors, custom test cells, and automated manufacturing systems.

This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, improve system reliability, and support future automation initiatives. Candidates should possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and demonstrate an interest in developing expertise in industrial automation, controls, robotics, and advanced manufacturing equipment.

Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Status: Non- Exempt

Pay Range: $30-$35 per hour

Hours: Monday- Thursday 6am -4:30pm Full Time

As a Maintenance & Facilities Technician, you will:

· Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, boilers, plumbing, lighting, and electrical infrastructure.

· Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment including but not limited to welders, hydraulic presses, conveyors, assembly equipment, and custom test stations.

· Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical system and robotics/automation

· Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.

· Support equipment installations, facility upgrades, machine relocations, and capital improvement projects.

· Support automation equipment including PLCs, sensors, VFDs, robotics, control panels, and machine safety systems.

· Complete work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and documentation within the CMMS system.

· Support continuous improvement, safety, and reliability initiatives.

· Comply with OSHA, EPA, lockout/tagout, and company safety requirements.

· Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting robotics, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of industrial facility systems including HVAC and compressed air systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional teamwork.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance documentation practices.
  • Solid PC skills using Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with PLCs, industrial controls, robotics, automation equipment, and machine integration.

· Experience with VFDs, sensors, motor controls, and industrial networking.

· Familiarity with CMMS software.

· High school diploma or equivalent with 10 years of relevant experience

Work Environment:

· Employees in this role may work around fumes, airborne particles, machinery with moving parts, vibration, elevated noise levels, electrical equipment, compressed air systems, and other industrial or facility-related conditions.

· Personal protective equipment and compliance with company safety procedures are required where applicable

Physical Demands:

· This role requires speaking and listening as part of daily tasks and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and working in or around equipment throughout the day.

· Employees are frequently expected to lift or move objects weighing 50 pounds or less. The position also requires visual abilities including near and far vision, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
