Job Description
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.
As a Product Lead for Global HRIS, you will own Rippling’s Global Employer of Record and third-party payroll products end to end. Your portfolio will span all EOR models, Standard Global Payroll, country expansion, payroll controls, operational tooling, and the financial and compliance systems required to scale safely across more than 100 countries.
You will set the strategy for how Rippling expands global coverage while building deeper, more scalable products in existing markets. This means making critical tradeoffs between country expansion and product depth, and creating a coherent Rippling experience across different employment models, payroll providers, local regulations, currencies, and pay schedules.
A core part of your role will be building the systems and partner experiences that allow Rippling to centralize payroll operations across these models. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, Payroll, HRIS, Time, Payments, Billing, EOR and Tax Operations, Legal, Compliance, Business Development, Sales, and Customer Experience to launch new markets, strengthen payroll controls, and reduce operational complexity.
Success means turning broad geographic coverage into a differentiated, scalable global payroll product: one that customers can confidently use across markets and that Rippling can operate without proportional growth in manual work, compliance exposure, or financial risk.
What you will do- Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap across Premium, Standard, and Partner EOR and Standard Global Payroll.
- Make explicit portfolio tradeoffs between new-market expansion, competitive product depth, operational scalability, reliability, and financial risk.
- Define country and SKU launch readiness across the complete customer journey—not merely engineering completion—including hiring, onboarding, payroll, funding, compliance, support, and go-to-market readiness.
- Build the control and visibility customers need to confidently run global payroll, including payroll preview and editing, approvals, pay schedules, external time-and-attendance inputs, multi-region support, currency flexibility, exports, and reconciliation.
- Improve the EOR employee and admin experience while driving cross-team dependencies such as work patterns, hourly and overnight-shift support, contract requirements, and country-specific hiring rules.
- Build the controls that allow EOR to scale safely, including underwriting, deposits and collateral, hiring restrictions, liability visibility, partner-invoice auditability, reconciliation, and expense compliance.
- Reduce operational effort and payroll cycle time through better onboarding, reporting, exception management, cross-client tooling, partner experiences, automation, and AI.
- Treat payroll accuracy, system reliability, API performance, data integrity, and auditability as core product outcomes—not engineering or operations concerns.
- Define and own a measurable scorecard spanning active employee adoption, revenue, launch readiness, payroll accuracy, customer review time, operational interventions, reconciliation, financial loss, and system performance.
- Lead planning and execution across multiple product and engineering pods, creating clear outcomes, ownership, dependencies, and consequences when priorities shift.
- Develop a deep understanding of global employers, employees, internal operators, and partners through research, product data, and direct customer engagement.
- Communicate strategy, decisions, progress, and risks clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- 8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of technically complex, high-stakes products at meaningful scale.
- Experience in payroll, global employment, fintech, HR systems, compliance, or another regulated operational domain.
- Strong product judgment and a demonstrated ability to choose between breadth and depth rather than treating every roadmap item as equally important.
- Systems thinking across interconnected products, data models, workflows, APIs, operations, and third-party partners.
- A track record of simplifying complex workflows while preserving correctness, compliance, and user trust.
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment, including defining metrics, evaluating market opportunities, and connecting roadmap investments to adoption, revenue, operational cost, and risk.
- Technical fluency sufficient to influence architecture, integration, data-quality, reliability, and performance decisions.
- Cross-functional leadership across engineering, design, operations, legal, compliance, finance, sales, and support.
- Experience setting direction across multiple teams or PM-owned workstreams and bringing interdependent initiatives to completion.
- AI fluency in how you work and a clear perspective on where AI can safely improve customer and operational workflows.
- A bias toward action, deep ownership, intellectual honesty, and relentless focus on customer outcomes.
