This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Finance Operations based in India.
This is a senior finance leadership opportunity focused on building and scaling a shared-service model in India. You will lead a significant finance transition while maintaining reliable, accurate, and well-controlled day-to-day operations. The role combines operational leadership with finance transformation, process standardization, and continuous improvement. You will help modernize finance workflows through technology, automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will influence the evolution of finance systems, processes, and service delivery. This is an impactful role for an experienced leader who enjoys building high-performing teams and creating scalable operating models.
- Establish and develop a scalable shared-service operating model for Finance Operations in India, creating consistent processes, service standards, and operating rhythms.
- Lead finance transition activities, including knowledge transfer, process migration, change adoption, and the stabilization of newly transitioned activities.
- Oversee core transactional finance processes, ensuring accurate billing, reconciliations, intercompany activities, master data management, working capital processes, and timely month-end close.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance, compliance, risk management, and audit readiness while ensuring issues are identified and escalated appropriately.
- Define and monitor KPIs, SLAs, service measures, and performance standards to improve efficiency, quality, responsiveness, and operational resilience.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and ERP optimization, including the integration and effective use of NetSuite and other technology-enabled processes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and modernize finance activities through technology, data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
- Partner with Finance, Technology, and wider business leaders to translate operational improvements into measurable business value and support the broader transformation roadmap.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing finance operations team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proven experience as a finance operations leader, with a strong background in finance operations, shared services, transformation, transition management, or similar leadership roles within complex organizations.
- Strong understanding of transactional finance, month-end close, reconciliations, intercompany processes, master data, working capital, financial controls, and accurate and compliant financial processing.
- Demonstrated experience designing, transitioning, and embedding shared-service operating models, including process migration, service management, controls, KPIs, and SLAs.
- Strong change-management and transformation leadership skills, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and influence senior stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of finance systems and ERP environments; experience with NetSuite or a similar platform, particularly implementation or optimization experience, is highly advantageous.
- Ability to identify and implement continuous-improvement opportunities using automation, technology, AI-enabled tools, data, and analytics.
- Strong appreciation of financial governance, compliance, risk management, control frameworks, and operational discipline.
- Proven people-management and leadership capabilities, including coaching teams, developing talent, setting expectations, and creating a high-performance culture across direct and matrix structures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across Finance, Technology, and business functions.
