Wage: $21.00 + Based on Experience.

Hours: Full time position, typical shift being 6am-4pm and some Saturday's during the fall

The Delong Company is a grain handling company looking for a seasoned hostler driver to move 20 and 40 ft shipping containers in our container yard. The individual must be able to efficiently back containers up to the loading dock. The driver will be expected to open the container doors before loading and close after loading. Drivers will move 20 to 50 containers per day in an 8-10 hour day. The individual will be part of the Delong Company team and will not be limited to driving, although they will be doing so 95% of the time. They will also assist in the grain handling operation as needed.

• Responsible for using an industrial tractor to move trailers as instructed within the yard to facilitate shipping functions. Will rely on instructions and pre-established procedures to perform daily job tasks.
• Responsibilities include but not limited to hooking and unhooking trailers, moving trailers in and out of doors, securing, and sealing outbound trailers doors.
• Responsible for the daily inspection of industrial truck and refueling.
• Document and report all maintenance and safety issues.
• Responsible for completing daily yard checks.
• Biweekly check company chassis for damage.
• Assisting dock personal as need to stock loading dock with supplies and daily cleaning.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned or needed

Work Environment for the Spotter Driver:

This job operates in an outdoor environment. There is exposure to grain dust, weather elements, heavy truck and machinery activity.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, handle heights up to 150 feet, and work in all weather conditions. This is a manual labor job. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
