Director, Portfolio Prioritization

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Portfolio Prioritization based in United States.

This is a strategic leadership role focused on shaping how a complex enterprise portfolio is evaluated, prioritized, and governed. You will drive transparency across transformation initiatives and help senior leaders focus resources on the opportunities with the greatest potential value. Working at the intersection of strategy, innovation, AI, and enterprise transformation, you will turn complex portfolio data into actionable insights. You will own structured intake and prioritization processes for emerging AI and business opportunities. The role requires close collaboration across business, technology, data, Finance, risk, and other enabling functions. It offers significant influence over enterprise-wide transformation and the opportunity to improve outcomes for both employees and customers.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead portfolio reporting across transformation initiatives, creating clear visibility into priorities, progress, risks, dependencies, performance, and business outcomes.
  • Establish consistent reporting standards, data-quality requirements, governance processes, and portfolio performance metrics to support reliable decision-making.
  • Develop executive-ready analysis and recommendations that inform strategic priorities, resource allocation, investment decisions, and portfolio direction.
  • Own the AI use-case intake process, ensuring new opportunities are assessed consistently against strategic priorities, business value, feasibility, readiness, adoption potential, duplication, dependencies, and risk.
  • Partner with stakeholders to strengthen submissions, clarify business requirements, identify opportunities for reuse, and ensure initiatives are aligned with broader enterprise objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional portfolio and governance reviews involving business, technology, data, artificial intelligence, Finance, risk, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare data-driven governance recommendations and decision packages that clearly articulate trade-offs, expected value, resource implications, risks, and execution considerations.
  • Ensure approved initiatives have clear ownership, roadmap alignment, governance oversight, and accountable handoffs to delivery teams.
  • Continuously improve portfolio governance, intake mechanisms, prioritization frameworks, stakeholder engagement models, reporting practices, and decision-making effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic planning, transformation governance, program management, business operations, management consulting, digital or AI portfolio management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex portfolios spanning demand intake, prioritization, capacity planning, dependencies, risk, readiness, governance, performance reporting, and transition to delivery.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize operational, financial, delivery, resource, and strategic information into concise insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience designing or leading structured intake and cross-functional evaluation processes, including assessment of business value, strategic alignment, feasibility, readiness, duplication, dependencies, risk, and resource requirements.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder orchestration, governance facilitation, structured problem-solving, and influencing skills, particularly in environments where decisions require alignment across multiple functions.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-moving transformation environments and manage competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to data quality and decision rigor.

  • Base salary: $185,500–$344,500 per year, with the final offer determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, and other business considerations.
