This role sits at the core of enterprise data protection, focusing on designing, implementing, and continuously improving Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls across a modern cloud-first environment. You will play a key part in safeguarding sensitive organizational and customer data across endpoints, email, collaboration tools, and cloud platforms. Working within a collaborative security organization, you will help shape scalable detection and response processes that reduce risk while supporting business agility. The position blends hands-on engineering with operational excellence, requiring strong analytical and automation capabilities. You will partner closely with Security Operations, Incident Response, Legal, HR, and IT teams to investigate alerts and drive remediation. This is a high-impact role where your work directly strengthens enterprise resilience and data governance maturity in a remote-first setup.
This role is responsible for building and operating a robust Data Loss Prevention ecosystem while continuously improving detection, response, and governance capabilities across the organization.
- Design, implement, and maintain DLP controls across endpoints, email systems, SaaS applications, and cloud collaboration platforms to protect sensitive data.
- Monitor and investigate DLP alerts, perform triage and analysis, and coordinate timely remediation with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and refine operational workflows, playbooks, and procedures for handling DLP incidents, exceptions, and recurring alert patterns.
- Optimize DLP policies, detection logic, and rule sets to reduce false positives while improving coverage and accuracy.
- Lead security and compliance efforts within Microsoft 365 environments, including Microsoft Purview and related O365 services.
- Act as a key escalation point for complex data protection issues, working cross-functionally with Security Operations, Legal, HR, IT, and business teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying automation opportunities and enhancing scalability of security operations.
This role requires strong hands-on security engineering experience with a focus on data protection, DLP systems, and cloud-based enterprise environments, particularly within Microsoft ecosystems.
- 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering or Security Operations, with strong exposure to Data Loss Prevention tools and programs.
- Proven experience implementing and managing DLP controls across endpoints, email, SaaS, and cloud collaboration platforms.
- Hands-on experience with alert triage, investigations, and tuning detection systems to improve accuracy and reduce noise.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security and compliance technologies, including Microsoft Purview, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Experience building security workflows, playbooks, and operational procedures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance security requirements and user experience.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a strong plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SC-400, or SC-900 are highly desirable.
