Position Summary
AMG is seeking a Medical Assistant to support licensed providers in performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This role includes patient intake, diagnostic testing, laboratory procedures, and documentation for disability and occupational evaluations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to provide compassionate, efficient patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Core Responsibilities
Patient Intake & Preparation
- Greet patients and verify identification and appointment details
- Collect demographics, medical history, and medication lists
- Obtain vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, weight, BMI, and vision screenings as required
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions
- Ensure informed consent and HIPAA compliance
Clinical Support
- Assist providers with disability and occupational fitness examinations
- Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., urinalysis, breath alcohol, hearing, vision, EKG, spirometry) as trained and/or certified
- Maintain exam rooms in a clean, stocked, and OSHA-compliant condition
- Collect and label specimens, following proper chain-of-custody protocols when required
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately enter patient information and clinical data into EMR systems
- Ensure documentation meets federal, state, and agency standards
- Support completion of medical forms and reports for disability and occupational evaluations
- Follow strict chain-of-custody protocols for drug and alcohol testing
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Assist schedulers with confirming and updating appointments
- Answer phones and respond professionally to patient and staff inquiries
- Maintain medical supplies and inventory; order replacements as needed
- Support clinic workflow to ensure timely completion of exams
Quality & Safety
- Adhere to HIPAA, confidentiality, and security protocols
- Follow infection control, safety, and occupational health procedures
- Report equipment malfunctions, patient safety concerns, or unusual findings promptly

Requirements:Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant diploma or certification preferred
- LPN/LVN, Paramedic, Military Corpsman, or Medic with equivalent training and experience considered
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
- Previous experience in occupational health, disability exams, or clinical medical assisting preferred
- Proficient with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (supplies/equipment)
- Adequate visual and auditory acuity for patient assessments and testing
