This role is focused on leading complex Workday implementation projects from initiation through successful go-live, ensuring high-quality delivery across global client engagements. You will act as the primary driver of project execution, aligning stakeholders, managing expectations, and ensuring that scope, timeline, and budget are consistently met. The position requires a strong blend of consulting, project leadership, and client relationship management in a fast-paced, remote environment. You will oversee cross-functional teams, guide delivery methodology, and ensure risks and issues are proactively managed. A key part of the role involves maintaining clear communication and delivering exceptional client service throughout the project lifecycle. This is a highly visible position where your leadership directly impacts implementation success and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end Workday implementation projects while ensuring strong governance, delivery excellence, and client satisfaction. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project execution, and serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading full lifecycle Workday Phase 1 and Phase X implementation projects from planning through go-live
- Managing project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and overall delivery quality
- Developing and maintaining project documentation, including plans, RAID logs, dashboards, and status reports
- Identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks and issues while escalating when necessary
- Overseeing testing phases and ensuring alignment with methodology, including test strategy and defect resolution
- Coordinating global project teams and fostering collaboration across stakeholders and functional groups
- Managing scope changes, project adjustments, and resource alignment throughout delivery
- Supporting sales and pre-sales activities, including project scoping and effort estimation when needed
- Driving continuous improvement through retrospectives, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing
This position requires strong experience in Workday implementation project management, combined with excellent leadership and client-facing consulting skills. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple complex global projects simultaneously. Key qualifications include:
- 4+ years of Workday Engagement or Project Management experience
- Experience delivering Workday Phase 1 and Phase X implementations
- Familiarity with Workday methodologies such as Launch or YourWay
- PMP certification or equivalent Workday certification preferred
- Experience managing global teams and cross-functional project delivery
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including interaction with executive-level clients
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in remote environments
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, dynamic projects
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to drive decisions independently
- Experience improving processes, standardization, and delivery methodologies
- Ability to travel occasionally (less than 5%)
