Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Import Specialist to join our growing Houston team at Fracht Group! Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process Customs and PGA (Participating Government Agency) entries for clearance of goods into the United States.
- Receive and review import documentation for proper information and to meet government regulations and identify and resolve any potential issues
- Ensure timely filings of Importer Security Filings (ISF) and Customs entries.
- Ensure compliance with regards to U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, USFWS, etc.
- Collaborate and build relationships with internal and external customers.
- Provide all manner of customer service and communications.
- Demonstrate strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize tasks between daily responsibilities.
- Adhere to a high level of operational excellence with respect to on time performance, accuracy, and customer service.
- Demonstrate proactive, professional, clarity, and reliability to internal and external customers through verbal and written communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of Customs brokerage/entry writing experience.
- Working knowledge of rules and regulations of the other government agencies (i.e.: FDA, USDA, DOT, FCC, etc.).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- High Energy, proactive, detail oriented with an ability to manage and complete multiple tasks on time.
- Ability to multi-task and make quick decisions in a fast-paced, ever changing work environment.
- Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- CargoWise experience preferred
