Job Description
Job Summary:
The CalAIM Director is responsible for leading and managing the implementation and administration of the CalAIM program. This includes ensuring that all operations comply with CalAIM standards, meet contractual requirements, and align with the mission of Centers for Living. Key responsibilities include program development, supervising staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and building strategic partnerships to improve service delivery and outcomes for Medi-Cal members.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Administer CalAIM programs, ensuring service delivery meets organizational, contractual, and CalAIM standards.
- Supervise and guide staff, including LCMs, CHWs, and Housing Navigators, resolving operational or reporting issues as needed.
- Monitor program fidelity and compliance, ensuring all interventions align with CalAIM guidelines and objectives.
- Analyze program data to identify trends, evaluate outcomes, and recommend modifications to improve engagement, retention, and member satisfaction.
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with CalAIM guidelines, including the management of Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans (MCPs) and regulatory entities.
- Conduct workshops and training for staff on key topics, including:
- Trauma-informed care
- Motivational interviewing
- Data management and reporting
- Social determinants of health
- Harm reduction strategies
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Build relationships with MCPs, healthcare providers, and community organizations to expand service networks and enhance member support.
- Serve as a community advocate and participate in regional meetings and workshops as necessary.
- Oversee program budgets to ensure efficient allocation of resources and financial sustainability.
- Manage grants and funding to support program growth and member services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and program success.
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field, with at least one year of supervisory experience in SUDTP or CalAIM
programs. Alternatively, a lesser degree and/or with substantial supervisory experience may be considered.
Certifications: AOD Certification from a DHCS-recognized accrediting organization (licensed professionals exempt).
Experience:
- Strong understanding of CalAIM objectives and operational functions, including Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports.
- Proficiency in program management, strategic planning, and quality improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant case management systems.
- Ability to navigate and resolve complex compliance and operational challenges.
- Lived experience in areas such as homelessness, substance use recovery, mental health challenges, or financial instability.
- Predominantly office-based with regular business hours; occasional overtime may be required.
- Local travel may be necessary to attend meetings, conduct site visits, or engage with stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- Possession of an AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Certification from a DHCS-recognized accrediting organization (exemption applies to licensed professionals).
- Personal lived experience in areas such as homelessness, substance use recovery, mental health challenges, or financial instability.
