Description
The Grant Project Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of an active U.S. Department of Education, Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), Research Development Infrastructure (RDI) grant. This role involves supporting the project team in programmatic, operational, compliance, and budgetary components of the grant to ensure objectives are met effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with federal regulations and institutional policies. The Grant Project Coordinator collaborates with the RDI Project leadership team (PI/PDs), CSU Fullerton Auxiliary Services Corporation (ASC), key campus stakeholders and external partners to support successful project implementation.
This grant funded position is anticipated to end by 12/31/2027.
*Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period. Employment for this position beyond current Grant/Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding.
- Coordinate day-to-day operational execution of grant activities to ensure alignment with the approved scope of work, performance objectives, and established timelines.
- Develop and maintain project management systems, implementation timelines, and tracking mechanisms.
- Monitor performance measures and milestones; identify issues and propose solutions for corrective strategies, as needed.
- Serve as liaison between the Principal Investigators (PIs) and Project Directors (PDs), Auxiliary Services (ASC), and campus financial offices.
- Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure allowability, allocability, and compliance with federal cost principles (2 CFR 200).
- Review budget allocations and provide recommendations to ensure effective and compliant use of funds.
- Coordinate preparation of required federal performance, financial, and continuation reports.
- Coordinate with PI/PDs and external evaluator to track deliverables and project milestones for grant annual reporting.
- Develop and maintain data tracking systems and documentation to ensure complete and accurate records related to grant activities, expenditures, and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain procedures, forms, and documentation to support project implementation.
- Support project communication, marketing, dissemination, and sustainability efforts.
- Ensure adherence to U.S. Department of Education regulations (EDGAR), Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and applicable federal, state, and CSU policies and regulations.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience managing an awarded grant or externally funded project.
- Demonstrated knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements.
- Experience with budget development, monitoring, and financial tracking.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to independently manage priorities and meet internal and external deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of formal reports.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with project management approaches and associated Project Management software and reporting tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant software systems.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged sitting for extended periods; frequently use a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment; and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via video conferencing. The employee may occasionally need to stand, walk, bend, or reach to access files, attend meetings, or support on-campus project activities, and may occasionally lift and/or move light materials (typically up to 15 pounds), such as binders, boxes of documents, or event supplies.
