Job Description

Senior Motion Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Motion Designer based in the United States.

This role is centered on using motion as a powerful storytelling and communication tool, transforming complex ideas into clear, engaging, and memorable visual narratives. You will own motion design as a core creative function, shaping how the brand comes to life across product marketing, digital experiences, campaigns, and live events. Working closely with creative leadership, you will guide projects from early concept through final production, ensuring both craft and clarity in every frame. The role also involves defining and evolving a scalable motion design system that brings consistency and structure to animation across the organization. You will translate abstract or technical concepts into compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences. This is a highly creative, hands-on position where your work will directly influence how the brand is perceived and experienced.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end creation of motion design work while helping define a scalable motion language that supports brand storytelling, product communication, and marketing initiatives across multiple channels.

  • Lead motion design projects from concept through final delivery, including product videos, explainers, launch campaigns, social content, and event visuals.
  • Own pre-production processes including ideation, concept development, and detailed storyboarding of motion narratives.
  • Translate complex technical or product concepts into clear, engaging visual stories for broad audiences.
  • Design and deliver motion assets optimized for web, ensuring proper formatting, compression, and developer handoff standards.
  • Create and support motion content for live events, including stage visuals, ambient loops, and large-format displays.
  • Edit and refine video content into polished, brand-aligned deliverables (shooting not required).
  • Build, define, and evolve a scalable motion design system, including principles, behaviors, and reusable templates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present creative work clearly to both designers and non-design stakeholders.
  • Explore and integrate modern motion and AI tools to enhance creative output and production efficiency.
  • Support additional design needs such as presentations and select marketing assets when required.
Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced motion designer with strong conceptual thinking, technical execution skills, and the ability to own projects end-to-end while contributing to broader motion systems and brand storytelling frameworks.

  • 6–8+ years of experience in motion design within an agency or in-house B2B SaaS environment.
  • Strong portfolio or demo reel demonstrating range across brand, product, and narrative motion work.
  • Proven ability to own motion projects from concept through final delivery, not just execution within predefined systems.
  • Experience developing or contributing significantly to motion design systems or brand motion languages.
  • Strong pre-production skills, including concepting and detailed storyboarding before animation.
  • Expert-level proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience delivering motion assets for web, including understanding of file formats, compression, and developer handoff.
  • Solid working knowledge of Figma for design collaboration and supporting workflows.
  • Experience presenting and articulating creative decisions to non-design stakeholders clearly and confidently.
  • Hands-on experience using modern motion and AI tools such as Runway, Adobe Firefly Video, Pika, or similar in production workflows.
  • Strong independent working ability in a remote environment with strong time management skills.
  • Collaborative, low-ego mindset with openness to iteration and feedback.
  • Nice to have: experience with presentation design in Google Slides, large-scale event visuals, or B2B SaaS environments.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary: $115,000 – $135,000 per year
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO plus 12 paid holidays
  • Paid sick leave
  • Paid parental and family leave
  • Lifestyle spending account
  • Tuition reimbursement program
  • Cell phone stipend
  • Remote-friendly work environment with occasional travel (~12 days per year, including team offsites)
  • Strong culture of experimentation, learning, and creative innovation
  • Opportunities to define and shape a core motion design discipline within the organization
