Job Description

Job Title: Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator Organization: Boise City / Ada County Housing Authorities (BCACHA) Type: Full-Time, 10-hour shifts from Monday – Thursday Location: 1001 S. Orchard St., Boise, Idaho 83705
Closing Date: Open until filled

The Boise City & Ada County Housing Authorities has an opening for a full time Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator. This is a grant-funded position. The primary function of the position includes maintaining a caseload of Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants (Section 8) and providing them with ongoing support to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency through needs assessments, goal setting, and coordination of services.

Duties:
Conduct needs assessments to develop Individualized Training and Services Plans.
Facilitate participant engagement in goal-oriented activities through: o One-on-one meetings. o Referrals to community agencies and services. o Advocacy, problem-solving, and ongoing assessments.
Track participants’ progress and revise service plans as needed.
Coordinate services with other providers and case managers.
Conduct Section 8 rental assistance recertifications.
Maintain accurate and complete case files.
Prepare reporting data and write reports as required.
Provide information about programs and services to agencies, clients, and the public.
Explain policies, procedures, and regulations.

Experience and/or knowledge of:
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, psychology, or related field and 2-3 years’ experience in direct client case management; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work (required).
Knowledge of social work or human services principles, ethics, and professional standards (required).

•Case management- experience with direct client interactions, principles of casework, intervention, and referral services; social needs of low-income families (required).
•Experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing
homelessness, domestic violence, substance use, mental health challenges, or disabilities (required).
Trauma-informed training (required).
Ability to apply trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches to practice (required).
Client advocacy, and service planning experience (required).
Strong knowledge of community social services resources (required).
HUD rules and regulations (preferred).
Computer skills including proficiency with Word, Excel and aptitude for working with complex databases( preferred).
Valid Idaho State driver’s license
