POSITION OVERVIEW

The Field Technician II is a dual-qualified role combining mechanical maintenance and electronic systems expertise. This position is designed to provide AS O&G with a versatile, field-ready technician capable of supporting all equipment on location — from mechanical systems and fluid handling equipment to PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial electrical systems. Two (2) Field Technician I team members will be recruited to provide complementary coverage and ensure continuous operational capability.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties of the Field Technician II include but are not limited to—

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ALL equipment used on location, including both mechanical and electronic/electrical systems.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical systems (gearboxes, conveyers, bearings, pumps) and electrical/control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, contactors, transformers) commonly found in oil and gas equipment.

• Play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of equipment that drives the overall success of ASOG.

• Interact with ASOG Team Members, other on-site service providers, and customers in a professional and friendly manner, addressing inquiries and concerns while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by always adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.

• Promote a safety-conscious culture within the team.

• Assist with rigging up and rigging down of equipment.

• Assist with the development, implementation, and documentation of preventative and routine maintenance programs.

• Help drive achievement of Operational KPI’s.

• Be willing and flexible to travel to various locations as required by the job.

• Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager and Sr. Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Able to read, speak, and write English.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

◦ Relevant technical certifications or coursework (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation) is strongly preferred.

◦ Associate’s degree or technical certificate from an accredited community college program is a plus.

• Able to work under stressful conditions at times.

• Must be able and willing to work long hours and weekly schedules that may not be uniform.

◦ Anticipated 14 on/14 off schedule, but willing to be flexible based on project schedules.

Mechanical & Electrical Technical Skills

• Knowledge of industrial gearboxes, chains, conveyers, bearings, and mechanical pumps.

• Knowledge of ethernet communications, HMIs, PLCs, PLC programming languages, contactors, soft-starter controllers, circuit breaker protectors, transformers, VFDs, and electric motors.

• Proficient knowledge of 12VDC and 24VDC systems required.

• Knowledge of 240VAC and 480VAC systems; proficiency up to 480VAC preferred.

• Previous field Mechanic or Electrical Technician experience in a frac setting preferred.

• Knowledge of frac fleet equipment and operations preferred.

General Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• May be required to walk long distances, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb, or balance to reach high places.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Willingness to travel and work in different environments.

• Proficient with software programs including Word, Excel, and Teams; able to effectively communicate via Teams and email.

• Must possess good hearing and vision as needed for work and safety compliance.

◦ Noise level could be moderate to very loud at times.

• Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments is required.

• Strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty.

• Dependable, reliable, and capable of fulfilling responsibilities as assigned.
