Project Director

About Spyder

Spyder Construction exists to consistently deliver, while ensuring the greatest thing we build is our clients and our team. We serve commercial properties, multifamily buildings, and HOA communities across insurance restoration, reconstruction, and roofing. Clients trust us because we do the technical work right, every time, not because we talk the loudest.

The Role

The Project Director is Spyder's owner of the client relationship and the technical estimate that makes or breaks a project's profitability. You inspect the damage, scope the repair accurately, build a proposal that holds up under scrutiny, and manage that account from first call through project completion. This role rewards people who think in systems: you build your own pipeline process, you know exactly why a number in your estimate is what it is, and you don't need someone looking over your shoulder to get it right. If you'd rather solve the problem correctly than perform enthusiasm about solving it, this is your seat.

What You Will Own

  • Generate and manage a pipeline of leads through your own referral network and business development activity, taking full ownership of your revenue targets.
  • Conduct onsite inspections and translate what you find into an accurate, defensible scope of repair.
  • Build complete, professional estimates and proposals that win work at margins that hold.
  • Own the client relationship from first contact through project completion, including weekly communication and consistent follow-up.
  • Manage monthly pay applications and stay ahead of accounts receivable before it becomes a problem.
  • Negotiate change orders and contract amendments, protecting project margin at every stage.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers on subcontractor selection, scope handoff, and mobilization so nothing gets lost in translation.
  • Maintain complete, accurate project documentation and CRM records so your work can be trusted and built on by the rest of the team.

What You Bring

Must-haves:

  • Construction Management degree (or equivalent) and 5+ years construction project management experience, or 5-7 years field supervision experience as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent.
  • Working knowledge of CSI's 16 Divisions of Construction and/or Xactimate.
  • A track record of building accurate estimates and proposals independently, without needing someone to check your work line by line.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in insurance restoration or commercial roofing.
  • Comfort negotiating directly with adjusters, architects, and ownership groups.

This role is built for someone who wants full ownership of their scope, their pipeline, and their process, and who does their best work with a long runway and minimal check-ins. If you need daily direction, a defined script for client conversations, or someone else to validate your numbers before you trust them, this won't be a fit for either of us, and that's fine to know now.

The Work Itself

This is a hybrid role: time in the field doing inspections and project walks, and time at a desk building estimates and proposals. Expect regular local travel to job sites and client locations across the Colorado market, along with attendance at project milestones (demo, rough, pre-paint, punch, final). You'll need to be comfortable moving between technical scope work and client-facing conversations in the same day.

Why Spyder

Own the Outcome means this pipeline is yours from lead to close, and we don't hover once you've shown you can run it right. Deliver Consistently means your estimates need to hold up, every time, because clients and our production teams are building on your numbers. Forge Real Relationships means you earn trust with clients through accuracy and follow-through, not small talk. Stay Gritty, Keep Growing means we expect you to sharpen your process over time, not coast on what worked last year.

Compensation and Benefits

PAY RANGE: $105,000 to $155,000 per year, plus commission eligibility

Spyder offers health, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, and a 401(k) with a 4% company match to support your long-term goals. You'll also have paid time off and sick leave, optional accident and critical illness coverage, and access to an employee assistance program, along with profit sharing and performance bonus potential tied to your results.

What Happens Next

After you apply, you'll receive a short survey by email that takes just a few minutes to complete. That's the only extra step, we'll follow up directly after that.

Equal Opportunity

Spyder Construction is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
