2877 - CERT RECOVERY SUPP SPECIALIST (CRSS

Position Purpose: The Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) primarily works with clients that have a mental health diagnosis to enhance their recovery and provides behavioral health support and coordinated care for clients with mental health diagnoses.

Key Job Activities:

• Ensures enhanced patient engagement by addressing barriers to care, increasing patient motivation, and establishing professional, dynamic relationships with patients, providers, referral sources and other involved parties.

• Provides individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching, support, and training in the use of personal and community resources.

• Provides client education and training in the areas of psychiatric illness, substance abuse, and Nalaxone.

• Complete Mobile Crisis Response with the team in the community 24/7/365 days.

• Provides direct services for 70% of work hours.

• Meets progress note documentation time guidelines.

• Provides outreach, monitoring and/or direct treatment services to clients.

• Conducts evaluations for suicide, violence, drug abuse/dependence, and case management needs.

• Conducts family education.

• Runs activity group.

• Advocates for and with patients and families in utilizing resources and services.

• Conducts evaluations of patient in inpatient room and emergency room.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in social sciences preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must be culturally competent.

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

• Openly self identifies as a person who has lived experience of using/ have used substance use or mental health services when appropriate (MISA).

• Able to work some evenings and alternating weekends.

• Experience in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Certification as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) preferred, or obtained within two years of hire; OR

• If no CRSS is acquired upon hire, caregiver needs to provide proof of CRSS program enrollment, proof of continued education units (CEU) towards certificate, and/or proof of previous supervision hours towards CRSS within six months of hire.

• CADC preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear

• The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch

• The employee is occasionally required to stand

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• General office environment and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
