Job Overview:
The Trinitas Intensive Care Unit is a closed 25-bed unit supporting medical surgical cases with a variety of life-threatening needs. Our care management consists of care bundles based on evidence-based practices that are executed with compassion and care. Our intensive care nurses work with all patients and their families to create a healing, humane, and caring environment while focusing on patient advocacy.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
- Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
- Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
- Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
- Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
- Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes
- Pursuing continued professional growth through access to continuing education, clinical ladder opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career progression

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing; be I.V. certified from an approved facility or complete the requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire to the unit; hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification. ACLS upon hire or within 6 months of the start date. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred. Preferred at least 1 year ICU experience or 1–2 years of med-surgical / telemetry experience or Post-ICU, and/or High Acuity Acute Care experience required. Prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a full-time working week consisting of Monday-Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by the department. The schedule is a night shift — 7PM-7:30AM.
