This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Managed Services Enterprise Services Architect based in the United States.
This role is designed for an experienced Enterprise Architect who will lead the design, optimization, and support of complex virtualization and hybrid infrastructure environments. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers achieve operational excellence through innovative managed services solutions. The position combines deep technical expertise with executive-level communication, allowing you to influence architecture decisions and guide strategic initiatives. You will collaborate with engineering teams, customers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing enterprise platforms. This is an opportunity to shape technology strategies, mentor technical teams, and contribute to continuous service improvement within a dynamic environment. Candidates should be prepared to travel up to 40% and be located in the United States, with preference for candidates near major technology hubs.
- Architect, design, implement, and optimize enterprise virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions using technologies such as VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, Nutanix, Dell PowerFlex, VxRail, and related platforms.
- Lead platform upgrades, migrations, lifecycle management strategies, and infrastructure modernization initiatives across customer environments.
- Provide senior technical leadership during pre-sales engagements, customer consultations, and post-sales managed services delivery.
- Partner with engineering teams to align infrastructure strategies with customer business objectives and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across multiple customer environments.
- Conduct capacity planning, performance optimization, health assessments, and disaster recovery validation activities.
- Support hybrid and multi-cloud environments integrating Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and on-premises infrastructure.
- Facilitate customer workshops, technical assessments, roadmap discussions, and executive-level presentations.
- Participate in complex incident resolution, root cause analysis, and technical escalations within managed services environments.
- Drive service improvement initiatives, automation efforts, operational excellence, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting a 24x7 managed services environment.
- 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise virtualization platforms and infrastructure solutions.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, Nutanix, Dell PowerFlex, VxRail, or comparable enterprise virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of virtualization lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, maintenance, and operational support.
- Experience supporting large-scale production environments within managed services providers, consulting organizations, or enterprise IT teams.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures involving Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity management, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and root cause analysis skills within ITIL or IT Service Management environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Experience creating technical documentation, operational runbooks, implementation standards, and architecture materials.
- Ability to mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate across multiple teams and customer environments.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring platforms such as LogicMonitor.
- Experience automating administrative tasks using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools is a plus.
- Experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), or equivalent credentials are preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 40% as required.
- Must be based in the United States, with preference for candidates located near Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Cleveland, OH; Boston, MA; or Nashville, TN.

- Competitive compensation, including a base salary range of approximately $140,000–$160,000 OTE depending on location and experience.
