Paid Media Team Lead, Paid Search & Paid Social in Cincinnati, Ohio at Helium SEO

Helium is looking for a hands-on Paid Media Manager to lead our ads team across both paid search and paid social. This is a player-coach role. You'll manage and grow a small team of specialists while personally running strategy on some of our most important client accounts.

We want someone who is still deep in the platforms, not removed from them. You should be comfortable opening a Google Ads or Meta account today and knowing exactly what's working and what isn't. As you grow with us, this role has a clear path toward owning the strategic vision for the entire department, but right now we need someone who leads by doing.

You'll report to the President and work closely with account management, project management, and operations leadership to make sure paid media performance translates directly into client retention and growth.

Lead the team

• Manage, coach, and support a small team of paid search and paid social specialists
• Set day-to-day standards for campaign strategy, QA, and reporting, and hold the team to them
• Stay current on platform changes (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, Performance Max, AI-driven bidding and targeting) and bring that knowledge back to the team
• Own performance reviews and one-on-ones, and help the team grow their skills over time

• Personally manage strategy and execution for a portfolio of Helium's key client accounts across paid search and paid social
• Serve as the technical escalation point when an account needs a senior set of eyes
• Model the standard of work you expect from the rest of the team

• Partner with account management on QBRs, ROI storytelling, and client strategy for key accounts
• Tie paid media performance to the metrics that matter for retention: Revenue Driven, Client Profit, and ROI
• Identify account risk early and work cross-functionally to address it before it becomes a churn problem

• Contribute to hiring as the team grows
• Bring new platform capabilities, automation, and AI tools into the team's workflow
• Take on more strategic ownership of the department's direction as you and the team grow together

• 3+ years hands-on paid media experience
• Currently, actively hands-on in the platforms today, with a genuine want to stay that way even in a leadership seat
• Prior experience managing or mentoring others
• Agency experience strongly preferred
• Confident and skilled in senior client-facing conversations
