Supervisor Clinical Practice - Family Medicine - CdA Ironwood

Family Medicine - Supervisor Clinical Practice | Position Overview

As the Supervisor Clinical Practice you are responsible for the daily operations, staffing, and overall performance of a busy Internal Medicine clinic serving more than 100 patients per day. You will provide direct supervision to a team of 11 caregivers, including Office Service Coordinators (OSCs), Medical Assistants (MAs), and Registered Nurses (RNs), while supporting 5 providers to ensure efficient clinic workflows, excellent patient experiences, and achievement of quality and operational goals.

In the first 90 days, the you will focus on filling a critical Medical Assistant vacancy, gaining a thorough understanding of each clinic role and workflow, and establishing strong relationships with caregivers and providers. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative leadership style centered on accessibility, accountability, and team engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for clinic staff, including OSCs, MAs, and RNs.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and manage scheduling needs.
  • Conduct daily team huddles and regular caregiver rounding.
  • Oversee provider schedules and clinic workflow efficiency.
  • Address patient care concerns and operational issues as they arise.
  • Monitor and support quality performance metrics, including preventive care and chronic disease management measures.
  • Facilitate staff development, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead structured staff meetings and promote consistent communication across the clinic.
  • Utilize Epic, Kronos, and Infor systems for operational, staffing, and performance management activities.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a proactive and approachable leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. They will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture. Previous leadership experience is preferred; however, the clinic is primarily seeking a candidate who is the right cultural and operational fit.

Work Environment

  • Location: 914 Ironwood Drive, Coeur d'Alene, ID
  • Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Supervisor Schedule: Five days per week with flexible start times
  • Occasional early attendance required for monthly provider meetings at 6:30 AM

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications


• Graduate of an accredited college or US Military equivalent in area of oversight with applicable credentialing/licensing in one of the following required:
• RN: Minimum of a BSN and State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the “multistate privilege to practice” compact with Idaho
• 3 years of healthcare experience required
• Previous leadership experience in a related field preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required if applicable to the clinic of oversight
