Job Description
Job Overview:The Warehouse Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across all areas of the warehouse. This role involves performing routine janitorial and porter tasks — while adhering to company sanitation protocols and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate ensures cleanliness is maintained at all times to support operational safety and compliance.$19.50 per hour, must be able to work weekends and any shift - 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.EARN UP TO AN ADDITIONAL $4.00 PER HOUR FOR OUR ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE!BENEFITS AVAILABLE AFTER 90 DAYS!Duties and Responsibilities (included but are not limited to the following):
- Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly dock work area.
- Pick up trash, sweep and mop floors, and run the trash compactor.
- Operate, while seated, a motorized scrubber and sweeper.
- Operate, while standing, a motorized pallet jack and buffing machine.
- Product slot maintenance
- Clean spills, cobweb removal, cleaning of bathrooms, break rooms, floor drains and under dock plates
- Recondition damaged products; bale plastic and cardboard
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of warehouse areas including floors, walls, ceilings, racking systems, and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, office areas, and other common spaces.
- Remove trash, debris, and recyclable materials from the facility and dispose of them appropriately.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and ensure compliance with safety and chemical handling procedures (including SDS knowledge).
- Assist in cleaning spills, leaks, and other hazards promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support food safety or hazardous material protocols as needed Follow safety procedures for chemical handling and cleaning protocols (including use of PPE).
- Report safety hazards or facility issues promptly to management.
- Ability and skill in meeting production standards
- Performs visual and operational vehicle safety inspections and reports any unsafe vehicles to shift supervisor or maintenance personnel.
- Observes, reports and corrects (when appropriate) all unsafe and unsanitary conditions that could cause employee and/or customer accidents.
- Performs all related requests, tasks and processes as required from operations supervisors/managers. Support warehouse team with other tasks as needed, especially during peak periods or special projects.
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and janitorial techniques
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a 32 degree to 40-degree F environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.
- Ability to work any shift including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
- Ability to handle empty pallets weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Working knowledge of all safety rules and safety procedures.
- Working knowledge of 990 scan unit.
- Skill in operating warehouse equipment: i.e.; Pallet Jack (double and triple), Hi-lift, RC.
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop and lift up to and including 60lbs frequently and 80lbs occasionally.
- Skill in operating equipment in designated areas: i.e.; pallet jack, sweeper, scrubber, power washer.
- Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
- Skill in communicating effectively with supervisors and department managers.
