Job Overview:

The Warehouse Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across all areas of the warehouse. This role involves performing routine janitorial and porter tasks — while adhering to company sanitation protocols and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate ensures cleanliness is maintained at all times to support operational safety and compliance.

$19.50 per hour, must be able to work weekends and any shift - 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.

Duties and Responsibilities (included but are not limited to the following):

1. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly dock work area.
2. Pick up trash, sweep and mop floors, and run the trash compactor.
3. Operate, while seated, a motorized scrubber and sweeper.
4. Operate, while standing, a motorized pallet jack and buffing machine.
5. Product slot maintenance
6. Clean spills, cobweb removal, cleaning of bathrooms, break rooms, floor drains and under dock plates
7. Recondition damaged products; bale plastic and cardboard
8. Perform routine and deep cleaning of warehouse areas including floors, walls, ceilings, racking systems, and equipment.
9. Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, office areas, and other common spaces.
10. Remove trash, debris, and recyclable materials from the facility and dispose of them appropriately.
11. Use appropriate cleaning agents and ensure compliance with safety and chemical handling procedures (including SDS knowledge).
12. Assist in cleaning spills, leaks, and other hazards promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
13. Support food safety or hazardous material protocols as needed Follow safety procedures for chemical handling and cleaning protocols (including use of PPE).
14. Report safety hazards or facility issues promptly to management.
15. Ability and skill in meeting production standards
16. Performs visual and operational vehicle safety inspections and reports any unsafe vehicles to shift supervisor or maintenance personnel.
17. Observes, reports and corrects (when appropriate) all unsafe and unsanitary conditions that could cause employee and/or customer accidents.
18. Performs all related requests, tasks and processes as required from operations supervisors/managers. Support warehouse team with other tasks as needed, especially during peak periods or special projects.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

1. Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
2. Knowledge of cleaning equipment
3. Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals
4. Knowledge of cleaning procedures and janitorial techniques
5. Ability to work independently
6. Ability to work in a 32 degree to 40-degree F environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.
7. Ability to work any shift including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
8. Ability to handle empty pallets weighing up to 60 pounds.
9. Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment.
10. Working knowledge of all safety rules and safety procedures.
11. Working knowledge of 990 scan unit.
12. Skill in operating warehouse equipment: i.e.; Pallet Jack (double and triple), Hi-lift, RC.
13. Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop and lift up to and including 60lbs frequently and 80lbs occasionally.
14. Skill in operating equipment in designated areas: i.e.; pallet jack, sweeper, scrubber, power washer.
15. Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
16. Skill in communicating effectively with supervisors and department managers.
