Overview

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager - Strategic Corporate End User Accounts.

In this role, you will develop and grow relationships with large enterprise corporate end users, driving demand for Lutron lighting control, motorized shading systems, and services across their corporate real estate portfolios. These organizations operate offices throughout the United States and around the world and require consistent, high-quality support and world-class lighting control and shading technology.

Your mission is to establish Lutron as a strategic partner and help customers develop enterprise-wide standards for lighting control and motorized shading based on their long-term real estate, workplace, technology, sustainability, and operational objectives.

The sales territory for this role covers the Western United States, with a primary focus on key strategic accounts and opportunities throughout the region. Candidates must reside in either Seattle, WA or Denver, CO and must be able to travel regularly from the Rocky Mountains to the West Coast.



Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow new and existing strategic corporate end-user accounts, creating demand for Lutron systems and services across customers' global real estate portfolios.

  • Build long-term relationships with key decision makers and influencers within large enterprise organizations and position Lutron as a trusted partner for lighting control, motorized shading, and related building technologies.

  • Develop portfolio-wide strategies with customers that establish Lutron as a preferred or standardized solution across new construction, renovations, existing facilities, system upgrades, and ongoing service and maintenance programs.

  • Lead major project opportunities, including large corporate headquarters and flagship facilities, from early design and specification through project completion, coordinating with Lutron sales teams, representative agencies, and other internal and external partners.

  • Identify and develop relationships with prospective strategic end users that meet Lutron's account criteria, using creative and proactive strategies to gain access to key decision-makers and establish new enterprise relationships.

  • Engage stakeholders across customer organizations, including Design & Construction, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Operations, Sustainability, Procurement, IT, IoT, Workplace, and other relevant functions.

  • Coordinate with customers' external design and construction partners, including architects, MEP engineers, lighting designers, smart-building consultants, general contractors, electrical contractors, and other project stakeholders to help ensure successful project execution.

  • Understand customers' long-term real estate, workplace, facilities, and technology strategies and align Lutron solutions and product roadmaps with their evolving business needs.

  • Serve as a central point of coordination between strategic end-user customers and Lutron teams across multiple geographies to deliver a consistent customer experience throughout the customer's portfolio.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that identify key stakeholders, portfolio opportunities, competitive positioning, and short- and long-term growth objectives to hit target sales numbers.



Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years work experience in sales or construction/design based roles required; prior specification, architectural, construction, lighting, real estate, or smart-building experience preferred
  • Proven experience working with senior decision-makers and stakeholders within corporate Real Estate, Design & Construction, Development, Operations, Facilities, Technology, and/or IT organizations required
  • Demonstrated ability to understand & specify technical products and explain them to less technical audiences required
  • Prior architectural, product, or lighting design experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel 25% - 50% required
  • Valid US driver’s license required
  • This is a home-based position requiring travel from the Rocky Mountains to the West Coast. Candidates must reside in either Seattle WA or Denver CO and must be able to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

For candidates in the following locations, the expected base pay ranges are:

Seattle, WA: $133,000/yr - $160,000/yr

Denver, CO: $120,000/yr - $150,000/yr

Compensation in other U.S. locations will vary based on market data. Lutron's employee benefits include 401k match, health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation (amount based on tenure with the company), flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement programs.
