JOB TITLE: Assembler

DEPARTMENT: Assembly

REPORTS TO: Assembly Supervisor

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:

Responsible for performing production work in Advanced Mechanical Systems department. Support the assembly of finished products to ensure safe work environment, high quality of product, and customer needs and cost goals are met.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

· Assist with the assembly of precision mechanical systems.

· Ability to perform functionality and quality checks with system test equipment.

· Ability to read and write to perform required job functions.

· Keep a clean organized work environment & promote 6S to improve safety and job performance.

· Able to identify non-conformances with equipment or parts and react in a timely manner.

· Ability to follow detailed work instructions.

· Ability to take direction.

· Basic knowledge using general hand tools.

· Basic knowledge on how to read a print, BOM, and Electrical Schematic.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to read and interpret gauges, scale, Vernier calipers.

· Can demonstrate professionalism with customers and management.

· Basic computer skills.

· Can work in team setting to drive continual improvement.

POSITION TYPE/ EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

· This is a full-time position.

· Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm.

· Overtime will be required based upon customer demand.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Must be able to pass written aptitude test and demonstrate capabilities though physical assembly test

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Post High School technical education, Associates Degree

· 5+ year’s assembly experience

· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, lean practices, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods. Ability to solder a plus.

· Lean practices knowledge

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· This position will work in both front and shop environments.

· In the shop, you will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight.

· You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
