Job Description
Description:
Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP), which seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities through direct services and community collaborations that create solutions to poverty, is looking to hire an Automotive Technician. The person in this position is responsible for assisting the Master Technician with repairs to vehicles and performing preventive maintenance.
- Five years of experience in automotive/truck repair specific to gas engines.
- Certification or ability to obtain as an ASE Technician and the maintaining of certification while employed with KVCAP.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and have a minimum of three years’ experience as a licensed driver in this or any other state.
- Possess a valid State of Maine driver’s license.
- Must maintain current certifications (will be provided) as required for the position. These include but are not limited to: CTAA PASS, Defensive Driving, First Aid and CPR, Customer Service, Cultural and Disability Sensitivity.
- Have a good driving record with no serious or recurring moving violations.
- Must have a strong background in vehicle maintenance.
- Position is subject to Federal Transit Administration (FTA) drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Ability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Motor Vehicle, Department of Health and Human Services, Fraud and National Sex Offender Registry background checks.
- Possess or ability to obtain a State Inspection license for Class A and D equipment and vehicles and maintaining of this license while employed with KVCAP.
- Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment and ability to furnish all necessary hand tools pertinent to KVCAP owned, operated and/or maintained vehicles.
- Working knowledge and understanding of repair and parts manuals, computerized diagnostic equipment, and computerized maintenance software.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures as it relates to the maintenance facility, vehicle maintenance and defensive driving.
