Job Description

Solutions Engineering Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Solutions Engineering Manager in the United States.

This is a high-impact, commercially focused technical leadership role at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering, responsible for leading merchant integration success across a fast-scaling global payments platform. You will own the full technical engagement lifecycle, from pre-sales solution design through implementation and post-launch support, ensuring enterprise merchants are successfully onboarded and integrated. The role blends hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, guiding a team of Solutions Engineers while also acting as a senior technical voice in strategic customer and partner discussions. You will translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable, API-driven integration solutions across e-commerce ecosystems. This position plays a critical role in accelerating revenue by removing integration friction and improving time-to-live for merchants. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and highly cross-functional, with strong exposure to enterprise stakeholders and executive-level conversations.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and scale a high-performing Solutions Engineering team responsible for merchant integrations, technical pre-sales support, and post-launch implementation success.
  • Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle for strategic merchant and partner integrations, ensuring seamless delivery from solution design through deployment and stabilization.
  • Design scalable integration architectures using APIs, SDKs, and commerce platform ecosystems (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce).
  • Build repeatable playbooks, standards, and escalation frameworks to improve consistency, reduce delivery risk, and accelerate time-to-live across merchant integrations.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to translate merchant requirements into scalable technical solutions and influence product roadmap decisions.
  • Manage sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery processes for the Solutions Engineering function to ensure operational excellence and predictable execution.
  • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for enterprise merchants, including executive-level discussions and complex integration problem-solving.
  • Identify and drive process improvements that reduce integration friction, improve developer experience, and scale onboarding efficiency.
  • Own and evolve developer-facing documentation, integration tooling, and portal experiences to enable self-serve adoption at scale.
  • Champion the adoption of AI tools and automation to improve team productivity, reporting, and merchant time-to-value.
Requirements

This role requires a highly technical and commercially astute leader with deep experience in solutions engineering, integrations, or sales engineering within payments, fintech, BNPL, or e-commerce environments. You will need to combine strong hands-on technical fluency with leadership experience managing client-facing engineering teams.

  • 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, Sales Engineering, or Integration Engineering roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in people management, leading client-facing technical or solutions engineering teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in payments ecosystems (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Square, Fiserv) and modern API-based integration architectures.
  • Deep experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Proven track record of owning enterprise-level merchant or partner relationships and leading complex technical sales cycles.
  • Experience building and operationalizing scalable delivery frameworks including sprint planning, backlog management, and escalation processes.
  • Strong ability to connect technical implementation to commercial outcomes, including revenue growth and customer experience.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, and Sales stakeholders.
  • Experience building or significantly improving developer portals, documentation systems, or self-serve integration tools is highly valued.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools or automation to improve engineering workflows and operational efficiency is a strong plus.
  • A proactive, builder mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary range of $170,000 – $180,000 USD, plus potential bonus and commission opportunities.
  • Fully remote-friendly role for US-based employees, with optional access to a Manhattan office.
  • Flexible working culture with unlimited PTO and strong emphasis on work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid parental leave and family support policies.
  • Learning and wellness stipend to support ongoing professional and personal development.
  • Incentive programs aligned with performance and impact.
  • Access to modern tooling, AI-enabled workflows, and continuous innovation initiatives.
