This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Windows Systems Administrator in India.
This role is part of a global infrastructure environment supporting enterprise-scale systems across AWS, on-premises platforms, and Microsoft technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of complex Windows Server ecosystems that underpin critical business applications. The position requires deep technical expertise in Windows administration, Active Directory, and hybrid cloud environments, along with the ability to troubleshoot high-impact issues. You will work closely with cloud, security, and application teams to deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure services. The role also emphasizes automation, leveraging PowerShell and AI-assisted tools to improve operational efficiency. As a senior-level professional, you will act as a technical reference point and mentor for junior administrators while contributing to continuous infrastructure improvements. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
You will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and evolving enterprise Windows-based infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments while ensuring high availability and operational excellence.
- Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments across AWS and on-premises infrastructure
- Manage Active Directory services including domain controllers, replication, sites and services topology, and directory-level troubleshooting
- Administer Windows Server workloads on AWS, including EC2 provisioning, AMI deployment, storage management, and AD integrations
- Maintain and support DNS and DHCP services, ensuring reliability, performance, and correct configuration across environments
- Support Microsoft Exchange environments, including Exchange Online and on-prem versions, mailbox migrations, and troubleshooting
- Manage Windows file services including DFS namespaces, permissions, and enterprise-level storage structures
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to improve system reliability and operational efficiency
- Implement and manage patching processes using WSUS and related update management tools
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and ensure service stability
- Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes using ServiceNow
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and application teams to ensure secure, reliable infrastructure operations
- Contribute to operational improvements, documentation, and infrastructure standardization initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators
- Participate in on-call rotation and support global infrastructure operations
The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise Windows administration experience combined with deep knowledge of hybrid cloud environments and automation practices.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Windows Server administration within enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in Active Directory, including domain controllers, replication, Sites and Services, and troubleshooting tools
- Solid experience with Windows Server 2016–2025 environments
- Deep understanding of DNS architecture, including AD-integrated zones, forward/reverse lookups, and zone management
- Strong experience with DHCP administration, including failover, scope configuration, and load balancing
- Experience managing enterprise file services, including DFS namespaces and large-scale storage environments
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation, troubleshooting, and operational improvements
- Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, particularly Windows EC2 provisioning and management
- Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange Online and on-prem Exchange environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Entra Connect (AD Sync)
- Experience using ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams
- Ability to work independently while supporting mission-critical systems in a global environment
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
