You will join a high-impact engineering team building large-scale, distributed systems that power critical customer and platform experiences used by millions globally. In this role, you will act as a technical leader responsible for designing, building, and scaling highly available and fault-tolerant cloud-native systems. You will drive architecture decisions, lead complex backend initiatives, and contribute to greenfield development efforts in ambiguous and fast-evolving problem spaces. You will also mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and help define best practices across multiple services. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will influence both system design and team execution in a fast-paced, cloud-first organization.

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant backend systems on AWS.
• Drive greenfield initiatives and complex engineering projects from concept through production deployment.
• Participate in and lead technical design discussions for cross-service architectures and platform capabilities.
• Build and maintain highly observable systems with strong monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing practices.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across multiple services and cloud environments.
• Evaluate and adopt modern technologies, including cloud services and AI-assisted engineering tools, to improve platform efficiency.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices in system design, coding, and delivery.
• Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, code reviews, and technical grooming sessions.
• Ensure architectural decisions balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational simplicity.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, development workflows, and technical standards.

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production-grade systems.
• Strong backend development expertise in Go, Python, or Node.js.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora, and IAM.
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed, highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Strong knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL/Aurora and MongoDB, including optimization and schema design.
• Experience implementing observability solutions using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Exposure to AI/ML integrations or LLM-powered capabilities in production systems or engineering workflows.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and engineering delivery practices.
• Experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Frontend experience with React and exposure to performance testing tools are a plus.
