Job Description

Position Summary

The A&P Technician, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs all inspections, maintenance and servicing of aircraft. Assure compliance with all applicable federal, government, civilian regulations, and manufacturer’s requirements pertaining to maintenance and modification of aircraft

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Return aircraft to service in a timely manner
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation.
  • Document all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.
  • Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and de-icers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problem.
  • Inspect airframes for wear or other defects.
  • Maintain, repair, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts such as wings and fuselage, rigging, hydraulic units, oxygen systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, gaskets, and seals.
  • Measure the tension of control cables.
  • Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Measure parts for wear, using precision instruments.
  • Responding to weekend pages within 20 minutes (weekend assignments are scheduled on a rotational basis)
  • Travel as required to support AOG customer aircraft that are away from KCAC’s facilities

Qualifications

Knowledge, Training, and Experience

  • High School education, or equivalent
  • FAA Certified A&P License
  • Must meet/maintain minimum tool inventory requirements
  • Familiar with Windows and IOS operating systems

Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to pass respiratory physicals and work in confined spaces
  • Able to routinely lift 75 pounds, climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently in confined spaces
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently and execute projects with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills and ability to get along with all associates
