Job Description

Senior Business Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Analyst based in the United States.

This role is a senior-level position within complex insurance transformation programs, acting as the critical link between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams. You will lead end-to-end business analysis efforts across high-impact Property & Casualty (P&C) initiatives, translating business needs into structured, actionable requirements that guide solution design and implementation. Working in a highly collaborative and consultative environment, you will own the full requirements lifecycle from discovery through UAT and sprint execution. The role also combines strategic analysis with hands-on delivery, including data-driven insights, process optimization, and backlog management. In addition, you will mentor junior analysts and contribute to raising overall delivery standards across the team. This is a highly visible role where your work directly influences client outcomes, system performance, and digital transformation success.

Accountabilities:

This role is responsible for leading business analysis across complex insurance transformation projects, ensuring requirements are accurately captured, structured, and translated into delivery-ready solutions that align with business and technical objectives.

  • Own the end-to-end requirements lifecycle, from discovery and elicitation through documentation, validation, and UAT coordination
  • Translate business needs into structured epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria using Agile methodologies
  • Maintain requirements traceability, ensuring alignment between business objectives, functional requirements, and testing coverage
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning support, and sprint demonstration reviews with stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies
  • Design dashboards and analytical outputs using tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau to support decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with development, QA, UX, and product teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements
  • Lead stakeholder workshops, manage expectations, and ensure alignment across business and technical teams
  • Mentor junior business analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing, peer reviews, and continuous improvement practices
  • Identify risks, gaps, and scope misalignments and drive resolution to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in business analysis within Property & Casualty insurance environments, combined with deep Agile expertise and the ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Insurance, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within P&C insurance (policy, billing, and claims)
  • Strong experience independently leading BA workstreams for client implementations or enterprise projects
  • Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing product backlogs
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in process modeling, workflow optimization, and requirements documentation
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, ADO, Confluence, Visio, and similar platforms
  • Strong experience with SQL, Excel, and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to mentor junior analysts and provide structured feedback
  • Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, SAFe POPM, or CSPO are a plus
  • Experience with Duck Creek or similar P&C platforms is highly preferred
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience
  • Annual bonus opportunities based on performance
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote and hybrid options
  • Paid time off, holidays, and vacation benefits
  • Retirement savings programs
  • Professional development, certifications, and continuing education support
  • Career growth opportunities within enterprise insurance transformation programs
  • Wellness initiatives and employee support resources
  • Collaborative, knowledge-sharing work environment focused on continuous improvement
