DLRdmv™ creates and deploys innovating Title & Registration technology and Governmental Compliance solutions to the Automotive Industry. DLRdmv offers an exciting, entrepreneurial work environment for individuals interested in being part of a growing company that is fully committed to serving its customers. Our mission is to provide best-in-class products and services to our clientele and earn their business every day.

About the role

As our Senior EKS Platform Engineer, you’ll own DLRdmv’s Kubernetes and container platform on AWS, with a primary focus on Amazon EKS. This is a hands-on role – you will be our Kubernetes/EKS subject-matter expert as we transition from traditional server-hosted solutions to containerized workloads. Reporting to the Director of IT, you’ll work closely with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, and our Product Team. DevOps owns build and release pipelines; you own the Kubernetes runtime platform – EKS cluster operations, Helm chart strategy, and the production readiness of containerized workloads.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, operate, and secure Amazon EKS environments across DLRdmv’s AWS ecosystem
  • Own the health, reliability, scalability, and operational readiness of the Kubernetes/container platform, including cluster sizing, node configuration, maintenance, and version upgrades
  • Own Helm chart strategy and design of current and future charts
  • Partner with DevOps to ensure CI/CD pipelines integrate cleanly with EKS, ECR, and Helm
  • Partner with Software Engineering to support application containerization, surface platform or deployment blockers, and define reliable runtime requirements
  • Enable developer self-service through reusable templates, paved-path workflows, and clear platform documentation
  • Partner with the Cloud Engineering on VPC, load balancing, IAM, and broader AWS service integration
  • Implement secure container practices: namespace design, workload identity, secrets management, and image/runtime standards
  • Design and maintain observability for EKS workloads using CloudWatch, EKS Observability add-ons, and other tooling as needed
  • Troubleshoot Kubernetes, EKS, Helm, networking, deployment, and runtime issues across environments
  • Create and maintain platform standards, runbooks, documentation, architecture diagrams, and automation for repeatable, reliable operations
  • Participate in production incident response, security and risk assessments, disaster recovery planning, and controls audits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field - or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud/platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or a related technical role
  • 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, including production Kubernetes or EKS operations
  • Direct experience designing, operating, securing, upgrading, and troubleshooting Amazon EKS environments
  • Strong hands-on Helm experience - authoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting charts
  • Strong grasp of Docker/container concepts, Kubernetes deployment patterns, runtime configuration, health checks, secrets management, ingress/load balancing, storage, and autoscaling
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure and networking: VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, IAM, load balancers, and ECR
  • Direct experience with Infrastructure-as-Code for provisioning and managing environments (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, especially Bash; PowerShell and Python highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts, deployment pipelines, and container deployment workflows (we use Azure DevOps)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues, identify root cause, document solutions, and implement preventive measures Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, security, and leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with .NET applications and Windows/IIS-to-container migration paths
  • Experience with AWS Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and eksctl
  • Experience driving toward low or zero-downtime deployment strategies
  • Certifications such as CKA, CKS, and AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Security Specialty, and Advanced Networking Specialty
